History

Bells can trace its origins in Farnham back to 1715. In 1893 the senior partner, Henry Potter, moved the firm into purpose-built premises at 11 South Street. Two world wars and over 100 years later we are still here .

Over the years there have been mergers with other leading local practices - notably Hollest Cotterill.  The result is Farnham’s largest law firm, bringing together some 35 staff under one roof to provide our clients with an impressive range of legal expertise within a single convenient location.

To this legal expertise we added our own estate agency in 1995 and our own financial planning department in 1999 to meet the changing needs of our clients.  We are effectively a multi-disciplinary practice operating under the auspices of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and, since 2002, the Financial Services Authority also.
