BELLS and its predecessors have been providing legal advice in the Farnham area and beyond for nearly 300 years, making us one of the oldest firms of solicitors in the world. The firm’s offices in South Street have been our home since 1893.

Our approach is a healthy mix of the progressive and traditional. There is a lot to be said for the solicitor as a ‘man of affairs’ and we believe that a provincial firm like ours should continue to exercise that role. Accordingly, whilst many solicitors increasingly restrict their services to ‘niche’ areas of law, we have chosen to reverse that trend and expand our range of expertise. In addition to a full range of legal services we therefore also offer estate agency via our sister firm, bells potter estate agents, and financial planning advice. 

Of the 9,000 or so firms of solicitors in England and Wales only about 50 or so are currently authorised by the Financial Services Authority. We are one of them. The vast majority of legal transactions involve a financial element and we believe that only by offering financial advice can we provide our clients with a joined-up, comprehensive service.
